COMMON QUESTIONS
CodeSeal FAQ
Does CodeSeal prove that I own an application?
No. CodeSeal establishes technical registry history and source overlap. Legal ownership must be determined using the appropriate legal and evidentiary process.
Do I pay to sign an application?
No. Signing and registration are free under the planned pricing model.
What happens if my search finds nothing?
You are not charged. Basic match/no-match checks remain free.
When would the $4.99 fee apply?
After beta, only when CodeSeal finds history and you choose to inspect the detailed history report.
Will signer addresses be public?
No. Sensitive signer details are protected from free public lookup. Disclosure in a detailed report is restricted and auditable.
What does notification tracing mean?
A newly registered seal can be watched for later matching signing activity. A resulting alert indicates a registry match; it is not a legal accusation.
